Who controls your information
The data controller for a live service will be the legal entity identified in the app and your booking confirmation. This pre-launch notice describes the intended Driver service; the controller’s registered name, address and privacy contact must be published before live accounts or payments are enabled.
Information we collect
We may collect identity and contact details, account credentials, saved places, booking and journey records, precise device and vehicle location during relevant service periods, cabin preferences, messages and call metadata, support records, ratings, device identifiers and diagnostic information. For chauffeurs, this also includes licence, right-to-work, insurance, MOT, DBS or medical-status evidence, vehicle details, payout details and service history.
Payment information
Payments and chauffeur payouts may be processed by Stripe. Driver receives transaction identifiers, payment status, limited card details such as brand and last four digits, and payout information; it is not intended to receive or store complete card numbers. Stripe processes information under its own privacy terms.
Why we use information
We use information to create and secure accounts; provide quotes and reservations; match the requested vehicle with an eligible chauffeur; navigate, verify arrival and display live progress; authorise and settle payments; administer chauffeur compliance and payouts; provide support; investigate safety events and complaints; prevent fraud; meet tax, licensing and legal obligations; and improve reliability.
Our lawful bases
Depending on the activity, processing is necessary to perform a contract or take requested pre-contract steps, comply with legal obligations, protect vital interests, or pursue legitimate interests such as safety, fraud prevention and service improvement. Where the law requires consent—for example for certain marketing or device permissions—we ask for it separately and it can be withdrawn.
Who receives information
Information may be shared between the passenger, assigned chauffeur and licensed operator as needed to provide the booking; with payment, mapping, hosting, communications, analytics and support providers acting under contract; and with insurers, professional advisers, regulators, law enforcement or emergency services where required or justified. We do not sell personal information.
Location and journey visibility
While a relevant journey is active, precise chauffeur location is used for routing, arrival verification and passenger tracking. Passenger collection and destination details are shared with the assigned chauffeur. Background location should be limited to periods needed for availability or an active service and controlled through device settings and clear in-app notices.
How long we keep information
We retain information only for as long as needed for the stated purpose. London private-hire booking records and any recorded booking call are intended to be kept for at least the period required by the applicable operator rules; financial records may be kept longer for tax and accounting. Account and support records use documented retention schedules, after which they are deleted or anonymised unless a dispute or legal duty requires longer retention.
International transfers
Some service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, we use a lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards, such as UK adequacy regulations or approved contractual clauses, and carry out any required risk assessment.
Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you may ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection or portability of your personal information. You may withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Requests can be made through the account privacy controls or the published privacy contact. We may need to verify identity before acting.
Security and account deletion
We use access controls, encryption in transit, least-privilege administration, monitoring and documented incident procedures proportionate to the service. No system is completely secure. Account deletion is available within the app; some booking, payment, safety or licensing records may be retained where the law requires it.
Complaints and updates
Please contact the published privacy contact first so the concern can be investigated. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office. We will review this notice regularly and explain material changes before they take effect.
